Admission
Foreign students who are desirous of doing PG programmes in IIIT, Hyderabad have to send their applications to The Chair, Standing Committee on PG Admissions, IIIT, Gachibowli, Hyderabad . 500 019, Andhra Pradesh, India with the following information.
- Educational background mentioning the degree, Institution and their corresponding Universities, CGPA, transcripts etc.
- Employment record if any
- Publications if any
- Skills of the candidate
- Membership of Scientific societies
- Area interested for specialization
- Problem a student want to work and importance of the problem
- Certificate from the sponsoring authority supporting the tuition fee
- In case of self support, a document indicating that the candidate can indeed support himself/herself
Fees
US $ 10,000 per annum is charged towards tuition fee per student coming from under-developed or developing countries. US $ 15,000 per annum is charged towards tuition fee per student coming from developed countries.
Apart from tuition fees, a student needs to pay approximately US $ 25 per month for the accommodation charges which include room rent, electricity and water charges. Also one needs to pay the messing charges approximately US $ 35 per month.
Advantages of doing PG progrmme at IIIT, Hyderabad
At IIIT, Hyderabad equal emphasis is placed on both course work as well as on project work. These projects are from the industry or are cutting edge research projects.
Course curriculum consists of a compulsory and elective courses. This allows a student to navigate through the academic requirements as per his/her interest and background

About the City
The capital of the state of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad is the fifth largest city in India with an ancient civilisation and culture. The twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderbad are separated by the Husain Sagar, an artificial lake constructed during the time of Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah Wali in 1562 A.D.
Hyderabad city is famous for historical places like Charminar, Golconda Fort, Mecca Masjid, Qutb Shahi Tombs, Falaknuma palace etc. The city is well connected by air/rail/road.
Hyderabad is rich in education with leading institutions like IIIT, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Osmania University, University of Hyderabad.
Hyderabad city has endowed with software industry, Defence, R&D centers, drugs & pharmaceuticals etc.
Summer temperatures range from a mean maximum of 40 deg centigrade to a mean minimum of 30 deg centigrade. Winter temperatures range from 22 deg centigrade. to 14 deg centrigrade. The monsoon season normally occurs from June to December. Registers rainfall of about 89 cms.

Transportation
The Institute is about 20 km from Begumpet Airport. International services like Air India, Emirates, Singapore Airlines are operational from this airport. The auto would cost you around two US dollars and a taxi would cost around Seven US dollars to reach the Institute.
The institute is 16km from Namplly railway station. From the railway station you could take a auto to our institute or get on to a APSRTC bus (Nos:216,217) to getdown at the International Institute of Information Technology. The auto would cost you around one and half US dollars and a bus would take you around twenty US cents.
Another alternative would be getting off the train at Secunderabad station which is 18 km from IIIT. From there you can take a auto to the campus (costs you around two US dollars) or take a APSRTC bus to Mehdipatnam (Nos:5, 49M), you can take a 7-seater autos (around twenty US cents) or another bus (Nos:216, 217) and get down at the International Institute of Information Technology. Reaching the institute by a RTC bus would cost you around 25 US cents.
About the campus
The institute is situated on a campus of 62 acres. It is fully residential in nature and hence is a self-contained unit. All students are provided with individual rooms. Two hostels for the men and one for the ladies have a total of about 876 rooms. The ladies hostel has attached bathrooms in each of the rooms. There is an optical fiber network connecting all buildings on campus including the hostels. The institute is now moving towards wireless campus. Separate Mess for the hostels are functioning as per the Menu given by the Students Mess Committee.
Student life
The insitute has a student oriented environment conducive to learning. Being away from the city hub nubs, the campus has a serene and calm atmosphere.
The students of all programmes live together in the hostels which helps in developing a healthy and cordial relationship among them. Ragging is strictly prohibited in the campus.
Through the medium of elected students parliament, the students run every facet of their lives - their food arrangements, interaction of the student community with the administration of the university, student grievance redressal, and coordination of active sports and cultural activities in the university. In addition to this, the students are the chief participants in organising various festivals and celebrations in the institute. It is a fact that every major event in the university has been organised, handled and coordinated entirely by the student body.
Each student has a faculty member as his or her Academic Counsellor, who not only guides him or her in choosing the right courses but also helps the student in overcoming any problems that he or she might face during the stay at IIIT.
